Terms of Use
Effective July 31, 2026
These terms are written in plain English on purpose. They cover what Winter Garden Spotlight is, what happens when you claim a listing, and what we each agree to. If anything here is unclear, ask us. The last section explains how.
Who we are
Winter Garden Spotlight is a free directory of local businesses in Winter Garden, Florida, operated by The Brian Morrison Company, LLC. When these terms say "we," "us," or "our," they mean Winter Garden Spotlight and The Brian Morrison Company, LLC.
Accepting these terms
By browsing the directory, requesting a claim link, or submitting changes to a listing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What the directory is
Winter Garden Spotlight lists local businesses for free. Listings start from public information and imported business data, and they get better when owners claim them and add real photos, corrected details, and their story. There are no accounts, no ads, and no paid tiers.
Because listings begin from public sources, a listing appearing here does not mean the business asked to be listed or endorses us, and we do not endorse any listed business.
Claiming a listing
To claim a listing, we email a single-use link to the business email address on file, or to an address you submit. Opening that link from the inbox is how we verify you: there are no accounts or passwords, so possession of the inbox is the proof of ownership. Only request a claim link for a business you genuinely represent.
Nothing you submit publishes on its own. A person on our team reviews every submission before it goes live, and we may edit, decline, or remove submitted content at our discretion. If we have a question about your submission, or when your changes go live, you may hear from us by email.
Your content and the license you give us
You keep ownership of everything you submit, including text and photos. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and adapt it on the directory and in promotion of the directory (for example, featuring your listing or photos on our pages). You can ask us to remove your content at any time, and we will take it down from the directory.
Content standards
When you submit content, you confirm that it is:
- Truthful and accurate about your business.
- Yours to share. You own it or have permission to use it, including every photo you upload.
- Lawful. No infringing, deceptive, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful material, and nothing that misrepresents who you are or what business you represent.
We may decline or remove anything that does not meet these standards.
Accuracy of listings
We work to keep the directory accurate, but much of it starts from public information that can be wrong or out of date, and businesses change faster than any directory can. The site and everything on it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Always confirm important details, like hours, directly with the business.
Changes to listings and to these terms
We may add, change, or remove listings and other content at any time. We may also update these terms. When we make a material change, we will note it on this page with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Limitation of liability
In plain terms: the directory is a free service, and we are not liable for losses that come from using it, from relying on listing information, or from anything a listed business does or does not do. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to the site is limited to one hundred dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Free means free
We do not charge businesses to be listed, to claim a listing, or to fix their own information. We never hold a listing hostage. If anyone asks you for payment in exchange for anything on Winter Garden Spotlight, it is not us; please let us know.
Communications
When you request a claim link or submit changes, we send transactional email about that request, such as the link itself and follow-ups about your submission. These emails are part of the claim process, not marketing.
Separately, the claim form offers an optional checkbox to let us reach you by text or phone at the number you provide, including messages and calls that may use automated technology, prerecorded messages, or artificial intelligence (AI) voice agents. That consent is entirely optional and is not a condition of being listed. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency may vary. You can revoke consent at any time by texting STOP or by contacting us. The full disclosure appears next to the checkbox on the claim form, and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the consent record.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Questions
The easiest way to reach us is to reply to any email we send you; replies land in a real inbox, not a no-reply void. You can also tell us here about a correction, a question, or a business we missed.
